Workshop “Tech4EVIta” – Advanced Technologies for Extracellular Vesicles

Area Science Park will host the Tech4EVIta Workshop 2024, an event organised by the Italian Society for Extracellular Vesicles (EVIta) together with Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste and CNR-IOM. The two-day workshop will focus on extracellular vesicles (EVs), microscopic structures released by cells that play a crucial role in cellular communication by transporting biological molecules. EVs are increasingly studied as innovative diagnostic tools and potential therapeutic carriers for personalised treatments. Central to the workshop discussions will be their use in medicine, along with the integration of advanced techniques such as omics, physicochemical analyses, and functional testing in vitro and in vivo. The programme will combine plenary lectures, thematic sessions, poster presentations and dedicated moments for networking and collaboration.

Within this framework, researchers from the HERVCOV consortium will take part in the scientific sessions with the contribution “The potential contribution of flow cytometry to characterize and define extracellular vesicles: the experience in COVID-19 and post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection.”
